WE ARE BUILDING THE BIGGEST, LARGEST, RICHEST ART MUSEUM IN THE WORLD – WITH YOUR HELP …
The Living Frames Project aims to create an interactive online platform in which people can share the artwork they have in their living spaces. Art is an omnipresent entity in our lives. However, the works of various artists often hang in the walls of collectors; available only to themselves and their visitors. Our project invites people to share the artworks they own, along with a short piece of writing that shares their thoughts and feelings on the piece. We also want to encourage our contributors to create a “Home Museum” if they have more than three submissions. We hope that this project will evolve into a global catalogue of artworks and make these hidden treasures available to everybody.
How it began
The idea to build a catalogue of a collection initially began when I (Hakan) wanted to make a coffee-table catalogue of our collection at home in Istanbul. This soon evolved to the idea of a “Home Museum,” which later led the way for The Living Frames Project.
How can you join?
Joining the project is easy; just e-mail us the artwork which you want contribute with your thoughts, feelings and comments at firstname.lastname@example.org. We encourage everybody to recount their personal connections to the pieces in consideration with the wider concepts and ideas, or even movements. You can submit single pieces, set up your own Home Museum, or join the Speaker’s Corner. The criteria for the pieces and the submission process is explained in detail here.
